Wellspring Company

Wellspring is one of the nation’s longest-standing, small professional modern dance companies. Celebrating its 45th year in 2026, Wellspring hails from a lineage of pioneer modern dance companies. In the early years of her career, Wellspring’s founder, Cori Terry, studied and performed across the world with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company. This experience and the training she received firmly established her among an elite group of nationally acclaimed professional dancers.

Today, we are a professional company for career dancers whose work is rooted in the rigor of modern technique and fueled by innovation, passion, collaboration, and presence. This extraordinary company of poetic and athletic dancers is committed to revealing the language of modern dance to adults and children alike. Critics have called Wellspring’s work dramatic, impassioned, seamless, compelling, exuberant, and life-affirming.

Each season, Wellspring presents fall and spring concerts, featuring works choreographed by Artistic Director Marisa Bianan, members of the company, and guest artists. The company also tours and offers numerous performances, lecture/demonstrations and master classes.
