CPR Dance: Inhale Movement presents Eupnea

We are CPR Dance: Inhale Movement, a professional contemporary dance company of Southwest Michigan. We are based in Stevensville, and aim to share professional dance with all of Southwest Michigan. We propose movement as fundamental to existence as breath.

Breathing life, moving life, with attendance towards one another.

Founded by Carolyn Pampalone Rabbers, a native of the Southwest Michigan area, our company is entering its third professional season. Season 3 is focused on Eupnea, also known as quiet breathing, occurs at rest and does not require the cognitive thought of the individual. While we are certainly not at rest or slowing down, we are eager to expand our foundation into a sustainable future which runs with fluidity and grace for many years to come.

The season will culminate with a new collection of work presented in an evening length concert. Eupnea, the concert, will premiere in cities including Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Benton Harbor. Works presented will include They Gathered by Carolyn Pampalone Rabbers, created in 2023. This work delves deep into the implications of femininity, while thoughtfully examining interconnected themes like birth and death. a cut path (how recent) was choreographed by Ashley Deran and Emily Loar of Project Bound Dance. This particular piece was created as part of CPR Dance: Inhale Movement’s first annual Chayah Artistic Residency. We also will present a brand new work created by guest choreographer Sayiga Eugene Peabody. We look forward to performing locally at the Wellspring Theatre in Kalamazoo on July  20th a 7 PM.
