The Edison Neighborhood Association (ENA), in collaboration with Blackmagic Media and Kalamazoo Poetry Festival, cordially invites you to the Autumn Washington Avenue Arts & Culture Crawl (WAACC). This complimentary arts and culture festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 12 PM to 5 PM. This engaging and free event aims to celebrate community, creativity, and culture within the heart of the Edison Neighborhood, Kalamazoo’s burgeoning arts district.
Now in its third year, WAACC invites the public to explore the Edison neighborhood through a series of live performances by local musicians and poets, artist showcases, and interactive activities. Commencing at Dormouse Theatre at 12 PM and concluding at the empty lot at the intersection of Washington and Cameron around 5 PM, WAACC will guide attendees through the neighborhood with free arts activities situated along the route. The event promotes pedestrian activity and fosters an appreciation for the unique beauty and artistic spirit inherent in the Edison Neighborhood, all without spending a cent! Participants are encouraged to follow the crawl to the final location for complimentary food provided by The Wurst of the West, additional musical performances, interactive art, and the opportunity to participate in an open mic session.

This October, WAACC will feature over 10 local poets curated by the Kalamazoo Poetry Festival, 4 musical performances selected by long-standing partners Black Magic Media, and live art by various visual artists, spanning a one-mile stretch of the Edison Neighborhood. A comprehensive map and schedule of events, including performance locations, restroom facilities, and parking areas, are available on our website. We are also seeking volunteers to serve as crossing guards to ensure the safe transit of all attendees between locations. The Edison Neighborhood Association strongly encourages all members of the community to attend and support local artists, discover new talent, and engage with the community.
