Meet the Authors!
The 40th Annual Mary Calletto Rife Youth Literature Seminar welcomes internationally recognized children’s author Mitali Perkins, award winning author Gary Schmidt, award winning illustrator Javaka Steptoe, and Award winning children’s book author and illustrator Matt Faulkner. All four guest authors will share in the annual Meet the Author event on Thursday evening, November 16, 2017 at Central Library.

Gary D. Schmidt
Gary D. Javaka Steptoe is an eclectic young artist, designer, and illustrator, building a national reputation as an outstanding contributor to the genre of children’s literature. A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Matt Faulkner has written and illustrated a number of children’s books. His work has won wide praise for its humor, exuberance and sensitivity.
