    Between Is A Place

Artist Exhibit in the Glen Vista Gallery

Lucas Pennymoney uses oil on canvas to explore the relationship between the physical and spiritual worlds.  His paintings include organic elements from nature collaged to construct an environment - a growing tree, moving water, or changing light - all exist both independent of and in relationship to human influence.  Patterns of color act as figurative elements generated from fabric and the figure provides a body language for a spiritual state.   Mr. Moneypenny studied art and design at Grand Valley State University. He has exhibited at Interlochen Center for the Arts where he is employed and at art museums in southwest Michigan.  He received the Festival for the Arts 2014 Festival Juror Award in Grand Rapids and was the Grand Prize Winner in 2013 at the Midland Center for the Arts in Midland, MI
