The musican-dancer, with the help of her music teacher prepare a piece of danceable music. Associate Director Aimee Tye will work with the dancers on their choreographies. A recording is made of themselves playing their chosen piece. At show time the audience will enjoy the live music and dance performance of those chosen to participate. Aimee Tye began her dance training with Bullard School when a child. Due to her exceptional talent, determination and will-power she progressed through the ranks of Kalamazoo Ballet exceptionally fast, becoming a soloist in record time. Ms. Tye followed in her parents footsteps and graduated from Western Michigan University with an emphasis on sculpture. She danced with Detroit Metropolitan Ballet Theatre and later danced with several companies in Chicago. She served as Associate Director under Director August Tye of Hyde Park School of Dance in Chicago for nineteen years and three years ago returned home to Bullard School. Ms. Bullard was delighted to appoint her Associate Director of Kalamazoo Ballet, as Mrs. Bullard says, “How great to have an associate who knows the repertoire, having danced numerous roles herself.” The role of the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland a Bullard/Tye Production, was created on her by August Tye. Aimee also danced Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, and Cinderella in Cinderella. Ms. Tye is delighted to choreograph a new work for this interesting performance.
