    August 16 - Schlitz Creek

From the mountains of Kalamazoo, the Schlitz Creek Bluegrass Band presents an exciting, high energy show featuring both traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. Instrumentals, vocal harmonies and down home style humor have made Schlitz Creek a favorite in the S.W. Michigan area for folks of all ages. The band
specializes in adapting songs from popular artists like Elton John, Cheap Trick, The Beatles, The Monkees and others into bluegrass tunes that sound like they should be from the Grand Old Oprey. From bluegrass festivals to concerts in the park, back yard parties or honkey tonk bars, travelling in their 1973, Ford motor home, tour bus, the Schlitz Creek Bluegrass Band is a group you don't want to miss. www.schlitzcreek.com

As a special treat to concert goers PopCity Popcorn will be selling popcorn and water in Bronson Park.

Concerts in the Park is a program of the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, with support from the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation and the City of Kalamazoo. Additional support provided by WMUK 102.1, PNC, Kalamazoo First Presbyterian Church and Adams Outdoor.
