    Talk: Dr. George N'Namdi on Community and Collecting

    Dr. George N'Namdi has 30+ years' experience as a gallery owner and is the founder of the N'Namdi Center for Contemporary Art in Detroit. The Center preserves the legacy of master artists and provides local artists a home for their aeir art, including performance art and experiential theater. The Center also offers juried shows, lectures, art invitationals, family events and an artist-in-residence program. The N'Namdi Collection, anchored by contemporary abstract paintings, is one of the finest private collections of African-American art in the world and combines works covering more than a century of art in every genre. It is also a tool for educating audiences on the contributions of people of African descent to the discourse of modern and contemporary art.
