    Visiting Artist Workshop Cindy House: Painting the Landscape in Pastels (980)

    This workshop will concentrate on pastel techniques with landscape as the subject matter. Cindy House's goals in painting are two-fold - to depict the beauty of commonplace segments of the environment and to capture a particular moment in time. Composition is a strong motivating factor when choosing her subject matter. Cindy will begin each day with a demonstration followed by opportunity for participants to continue working on their own...

    This workshop will concentrate on pastel techniques with landscape as the subject matter. Cindy House's goals in painting are two-fold - to depict the beauty of commonplace segments of the environment and to capture a particular moment in time. Composition is a strong motivating factor when choosing her subject matter. Cindy will begin each day with a demonstration followed by opportunity for participants to continue working on their own painting. Individual instruction will be given throughout the day. Cindy will bring a work in progress and encourage participants to do the same. A recipient of numerous awards, she has had a solo exhibit at the Butler Institute of American Art.
