Organization: Kalamazoo Nature Center
Help connect people to nature through art! Local and regional artists are invited to submit their nature related two-dimensional, artwork for review.
The Kalamazoo Nature Center (KNC) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to inspire people to care for the environment by providing experiences that lead them to understand their connection to the natural world. Located on 1100 acres, KNC is just five miles north of downtown Kalamazoo and offers a variety of nature related activities and programs for all ages. A highlight on the property is the main Interpretive Center, which houses many educational exhibits, live animal displays and a 1300 square foot gallery, which acts as a space for artists to exhibit nature-related artwork. The Glen Vista Gallery is a space where visitors are inspired by the art on the walls and the beauty of the forest beyond the windows. Currently, we are looking for artists to fill 8 week periods for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
Sales at the Kalamazoo Nature Center’s Glen Vista Gallery are encouraged but not required. All work is sold on consignment. The Kalamazoo Nature Center keeps 20% of the sale price. The artist receives 80% of the sale price.
Artists shall submit an initial portfolio (3-4 images) for review. Send a CD, slides, photos OR e-mail high quality JPGs (preferred). Written explanations of work are welcomed.
